Leonardo DiCaprio calls on world leaders to protect the environment

Leonardo DiCaprio has been recognised for
his impeccable acting skills and now it was time to recognise his humanitarian
work for the environment.
The Wolf of Wall Street star took to the
stage in New York to be presented with a prestigious Clinton Global Citizen
Award for philanthropy.
In his speech at the ceremony?s eighth
annual event the 39 year-old urged world leaders to protect the
environment by saying, “climate change is compromising the very livability
of our planet?.
The actor then added that “less than
three percent of all philanthropic giving goes toward protecting and preserving
our environment?, which he described as ?ridiculous?.
Leo then directly called on world leaders
to act now by saying that, ?environmental issues need to be put at the
forefront of the human agenda.”
