Broadway's 'Hadestown' {VO pronounced Hay-dees Town}director Rachel Chavkin took home the Tony Award Sunday night for "Best Direction of a Musical". Chavkin is currently the only woman directing a Broadway musical. During her acceptance speech, Chavkin took the opportunity to shine a light on the industry for not offering more opportunities for women and people of color. HuffPost reports Chavkin told the audience; ?There are so many women who are ready to go. There are so many artists of color who are ready to go. And we need to see that racial diversity and gender diversity reflected in our critical establishment, too".
