According to Business Insider, Stephen Curry has had more challenges than most to get to become a six-time NBA All-Star and two-time NBA MVP.
In a new Facebook Watch series called "Stephen Vs The Game," Steph Curry's mom, Sonya, talks about one of those challenging moments.
Steph was a scrawny 9-year-old, playing on a 10 years-old and under team, and they were down by one point.
Sonya explains, "[They] threw him the ball, and he could have won it, and he missed the shot...Broke our hearts."
But she said that missed shot motivated him to be the player that he is today.
Sonya says that Curry's father, Dell, took a harsher approach saying, "You didn't like that feeling did you?"
Steph said no and Dell added, "'Now you know what to do then.'"
