The shocking Season 2 finale cliffhanger of "Killing Eve" ended with MI5 operative Eve, played by Sandra Oh, shot and left for dead by the obsessive Villanelle, played by Jodie Comer. According to ComicBook.com, co-showrunner Sally Woodward Gentle explains the plot twist was a take on "Thelma and Louise." To her, it was clear that Villanelle's fantasy of running away with Eve to the wilds of Alaska would just never work out. Ever. In fact, Gentle says it's likely Eve would never even have gone there with Villanelle in the first place. The previously announced third season, under new showrunner Suzanne Heathcote, will take a ?bold? direction and explore ?big ideas.?
