According to a report by Comicbook.com, this week, the visual effects supervisor for Avengers: Endgame revealed that even the flashbacks to the Battle of New York in 2012 were digitally altered to make the film's stars appear younger. Lola VFX's Trent Claus reportedly said, "2012 and 2014, those are pretty short distances in time, so we're not talking huge anatomical changes from there to here, but there are differences." Claus reportedly went on to describe the process of altering each frame of the scene, and treating each of those frames as a work of art, taking into account light and shadow, form, and composition.
