Supreme was once a small skateboarding store in New York City, but now it's a billion-dollar company well known for its presence in the fashion industry. According to Business Insider, the retail value of Supreme's clothing isn't that outlandish ? around $38 for a t-shirt ? but once the items sell out, they begin to increase in value. Supreme has managed to use this to its advantage, creating exclusivity by under-producing to the demand. Some sellers have managed to flip items for over 20 times the original prices. Supreme's success is also largely attributed to what's been dubbed the "Kanye effect." In 2006, the company collaborated with Nike on their Supreme Blazer SB shoes and when West was spotted wearing them the prices doubled.
