Madonna's new album "Madame X" is inspired by her alter ego, "Madame X."
The superstar musician describes "Madame X" as "a secret agent traveling around the world. Changing identities. Bringing light to dark places..." a mother, a child, "a dancer. A professor. A head of state. An equestrian. A prisoner.." The list goes on.
According to CNN, Madame X is also about giving voice to the anti-gun violence movement.
'I Rise,' a song on Madge's new album features the voice of Parkland shooting survivor, Emma Gonzalez.
CNN explains, "Gonzalez was a student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida when a gunman opened fire and killed 17 people in February last year."
The song begins with snippets of Emma's powerful speech, made at a rally after the shooting. It includes, " Politicians who sit in their gilded House and Senate seats funded by the NRA, telling us nothing could have ever been done to prevent this -- we call B.S.! They say that tougher gun laws do not decrease gun violence -- we call B.S.! ...That us kids don't know what we're talking about, that we're too young to understand how the government works -- we call B.S.!"
Madonna later sings in 'I Rise,' "Not bulletproof, shouldn't have to run from a gun."
