VIDEO : Star Wars Chewbacca Peter Mayhew Dies At 74

Peter Mayhew, who is known to fans worldwide as Chewbacca in the Star Wars galaxy of films, has died. He was 74.
Uproxx reports that the Legendary actor began his Chewbacca career in the original 1977 Star Wars film.
Mayhew went on to appear in ?The Empire Strikes Back,? ?Return of the Jedi,? ?Revenge of the Sith,? ?The Force Awakens? and more.

A private funeral will take place June 29, and there will be a gathering for fans at EmpireConLA in December.
Mayhew is survived by his wife, Angie, and three children.
