Just days into its theatrical run, Avengers: Endgame has already had a record-breaking turnout at the worldwide box office.
According to ComicBook.com, it sounds like the film?s directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, were taken by surprise at its success.
At the Milken Institute Global Conference, the Russo brothers were asked about Endgame's $1.2 billion and counting box office results.
It?s sort of shock and awe. It?s a testament to serialized storytelling and this movie is benefited from that.?
With Endgame?s success, the the Russos are now the first directors to enter the "billion dollar club" three times over.
As for now, the Russo brothers have confirmed that they will be taking a break from directing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for awhile.
It?s our Endgame, at least for now. We don?t have any plans for now to make any more Marvel movies. It certainly may come up in the future at some point.
