Business Insider reports that Amazon and Google have each launched a music-streaming app exclusively for their respective smart speaker devices. Last week Amazon launched a free, ad-supported tier of its music streaming service for all Alexa-supported devices, including the Echo smart speaker, while Google launched a free, ad-supported YouTube Music app on its Google Home smart speakers and other Google Assistant-powered speakers. Google's service launched in 16 countries including the US, UK, and Australia. Previously, only YouTube Music Premium was available on Google's smart speaker devices.
