On Thursday, South African actress Charlize Theron shared that her oldest daughter, Jackson, is transgender.
The Academy Award-winner talked about Jackson in an interview with The Daily Mail.
She explained, "I thought she was a boy, too. Until she looked at me at three years old and said, 'I am not a boy!'
The 43-year-old has two daughters: Jackson and August, who is 4-years-old.
According to Channel24, Charlize also talked about how her South African upbringing influences her parenting style.
She reveals, "I grew up in a country where people lived with half-truths and lies and whispers and nobody said anything outright."
Charlize adds, "I was raised very specifically not to be like that."
