According to a report by Business Insider, on Wednesday, the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster, 'Captain Marvel,' officially reached 1 billion dollars at the worldwide box office, becoming the first movie of 2019 to do so. Last year, five movies hit that particular box-office milestone, propelling the worldwide box office to a record breaking year.
