Beyoncé and JAY-Z are set to receive a major honor at the 2019 GLAAD Media Awards. Extra TV reports the couple will be recognized with the Vanguard Award for their contributions in promoting acceptance of the LGBTQ community. In a statement, GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said, "Beyoncé and JAY-Z are global icons and passionate defenders of human rights and acceptance for all people. When Beyoncé and JAY-Z speak, the world becomes inspired and when it comes to LGBTQ people, their voices of acceptance have been heard loud and clear." Last year, JAY-Z was honored with the GLAAD Special Recognition Award for his song ?Smile" and its music video featuring his mom Gloria Carter, who came out as a lesbian. The GLAAD Media Awards will take place on March 28 in Los Angeles.
