"Captain Marvel" is being attacked online. According to Comicbook.com, on Sunday morning of the film's opening weekend, the audience score on Rotten was at 55%. The film's critical response on Rotten Tomatoes currently sits at a "Certified Fresh" rating of 79%. The Marvel Cinematic Universe film also earned an "A" rating from audience members on CinemaScore. The so-called "review bombing" began a month before the film debuted in theaters. Rotten Tomatoes has responded to the controversy, saying, "We launched some changes to the movie pre-release functionality last week, which included not allowing users to leave a comment or review prior to a movie?s release in theatres." "Captain Marvel" is in theaters now.
