Comicbook.com reports Sir Ian McKellen, a frequent collaborator of Bryan Singer, has addressed the allegations made against the director. McKellen played Magneto in five different X-Men movies, three of which were directed by Singer. During an appearance on the QueerAF podcast, McKellan responded to a question asking about the allegations by saying, "Well frankly, I?m waiting for someone to accuse me of something, and me wondering whether they?re not telling the truth and me having forgotten." The actor also said he believes what Spacey and Singer did was linked to their being in the closet sexually. He explained, "Both of them were in the closet, and ... if they had been able to be open about themselves and their desires, they wouldn?t have started abusing people in the way they?ve been accused."
