2019 may be Mahershala Ali's best year yet.
After winning an Oscar for the film Moonlight in 2017, he won his second Academy Award for Green Book on Sunday.
That is also the same day that the finale of his season of True Detective aired.
Now, Variety reports that Ali will star in a new sci-fi film called 'Sovereign.'
Directed by Marc Munden (Quantico), the Entertainment One and 21 Laps Entertainment movie the sci-fi/thriller that is about a man who tries to get revenge on a space ship that killed his wife.
Nick Meyer, Entertainment One?s president of film said ?We have long loved this project and have been patiently waiting until we found the right leading actor, which we no doubt have found in the incredibly talented Mahershala Ali."
Ali is also set to star in another upcoming film called Burn, a crime/thriller.
