According to Reuters, R. Kelly pleaded not guilty for charges related to sexual assault.
The Grammy-winning R&B singer was indicted for incidents that date back to the late 1990s involving three teenage girls.
The 52-year-old performer was charged with 10-counts for allegedly sexually assaulting the teenagers.
Each count carries a maximum sentence of 10-years in prison.
Prosecutors say the victims include a teenager Kelly met when she sought an autograph during a previous trial for child pornography charges.
