Shawn Mendes may not be old enough to drink in America, but he is in the U.K.
Legal drinking age is 18 in Britain, which means that the 20 year old accepted an offer to drink a glass of wine at the BRIT Awards in London on Wednesday.
After missing out on drinking at the Grammy's, comedian host Jack Whitehall told Mendes to get "bladdered" (drunk).
The singer responded by saying, "I have wine right here, thank you, UK, for this, thank you."
According to Business Insider, guests at the 2019 BRIT Awards were offered Laurent Perrier Champagne, Grey Goose vodka, wine, Malibu, Camden Hells beer, and Becks beer.
