'Black Panther' was a massive success for Marvel both with audiences and critics and earned seven Academy Awards nominations. Comicbook.com reports Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said one key piece of dialogue from the film's script motivated the entire tone of the film. He said, "That amazing line ... for Killmonger, as he lay dying outside the vibranium mines looking over Wakanda. T'Challa says, 'I can try to heal you,' and he says, 'Why, so you can lock me up? Just bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped ships, 'cause they knew death was better than bondage.'" Feige continued, "It was one of the best lines we ever read. We said, 'There are going to be a lot of revisions, but don't touch that line.'" Feige said he directed them to build more of the movie around the line. Director Ryan Coogler was not recognized by the Academy for either directing or writing. The Academy Awards air on February 24th.
