OG Star Wars fans were thoroughly confused with the debut of the prequel films, since technology advances have led to the films embracing a different aesthetic than they were used to. Because of this, comicbook.com reports many original fans had a hard time connecting to the new films. However, despite the criticism from original Star Wars fans, Obi-Wan Kenobi actor Ewan McGregor notes how thrilled he is that younger generations of Star Wars fans have been able to embrace the films in an entirely different way. McGregor tells Vanity Fair, "George Lucas wanted to do something very different with the prequels. That?s why people felt cheated. It was upsetting when people would laugh and joke about it. Now, many years later, the prequels meant a lot to the generation that were kids then. So from smirking, cynical opinions, now I?m getting feedback from the kids they were made for. I?m really happy about that.? While there is still debate over whether the new film aesthetic works or not, one thing that is not in question is the success of McGregor's stellar performance.
