VIDEO : Disney Reveals That 40 Percent Of New Films Will Be Directed By Women

Tessa Thompson recently proposed at the Sundance Film Festival the ?Annenberg Inclusion Initiative 4% Challenge.? According to Comicbook.com, this challenge would commit studios to hire more female directors. But it seems that Walt Disney Studios was already thinking about this before the initiative was announced. Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company wrote in a tweet that they were contacted about the challenge. Yet revealed that 40 percent of the upcoming movie slate will be directed by women.
