On Tuesday, the Oscar nominations were announced.
The film 'Sorry to Bother You' was a critical favorite.
But, according to Uproxx, the film did not receive a single nomination.
The film's writer and director Boots Riley knows the film was snubbed by the academy.
Riley made it clear: people, including a lot of voters in the Academy, liked his film.
But, he did nit campaign for a nomination. The studio company did not put out any "For Your Consideration" ads.
Without ads, Academy voters assume they?re throwing away their vote if they vote for a film their peers are not going to voting for.
