CNN reports Chris Brown was accused of aggravated rape and drug violations in Paris this week.
Brown has been in the news over the past decade for several high-profile assault cases.
In 2009, Brown violently beat his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna.
The police report at the time said Brown "continued to punch [Rihanna] in the face with his right hand while steering the vehicle with his left hand."
Brown pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge and received five years probation.
He was then accused of threatening a woman with a gun at his Tarzana, California home in 2016.
Brown's ex-girlfriend, actress Karrueche Tran, obtained a restraining order against him in 2017, alleging he threatened her with violence.
