SFgate reports audiences were surprised by "Beautiful," the life story of Carole King, particularly when King appeared as herself!
In celebration of the show's fifth anniversary on Broadway, King received huge applause at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Saturday.
King sat at a baby grand piano and sang "Beautiful," the final song of the show.
It's kind of miraculous that this show has lasted for five years because not many do... It's really a well put together production.
