According to Comicbook.com, Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan typically avoids saying "Wakanda forever" because his character in the film Erik 'Killmonger' Stevens grew up in Oakland, California, far from the fictional utopian African kingdom ruled by co-star Chadwick Boseman. Jordan says, "?I'm not from Wakanda, technically. That?s a Chadwick thing." Although Jordan, hasn?t embraced Black Panther's famed catchphrase as much as co-stars, Jordan is proud Black Panther was embraced the world over, particularly in the black community.
