Actress Patricia Clarkson made news for her bold, gender driven statement at the Golden Globes.
After accepting the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress In A Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made For Television, she thanked "Sharp Objects" director, Jean-Marc Vallée.
She said, "You demanded everything of me, except sex, which is exactly as it should be in our industry.?
Vallée, who is behind The HBO hit series also directed "Big Little Lies." Patricia played Adora, the mom of newspaper reporter Camille Preaker (Amy Adams), who returns home, to her small town, to investigate the murders of two young girls.
Patricia says that playing "incredibly compromised, fractured, brutal women" like Adora is easy, because she had such a "beautiful" upbringing in real life.
She added, " I think that feeds you in an odd juxtaposition and an odd way. Adora was one for the books - literally and figuratively - but she?s a character that I love, still, with all of her foibles."
Sharp Objects, will air on Showmax in February.
