The Chinese northern province of Heilongjiang hosts the world's biggest snow and ice festival.

According to CNN, it features spectacular installations and activities.

This year, the Harbin Ice and Snow World spans over 600,000 square meters, with more than 100 landmarks.

The most popular of them all is the Harbin Ice and Snow World, made with ice blocks pulled from a nearby river.

Visitors can walk into gigantic illuminated ice castles, and marvel at an exquisite snow Buddha statue.

They can also enjoy a 3D light show and the 340-meter-long Northern Lights-themed ice slides!
