Bob Einstein, the actor best known for his Super Dave Osbourne character, has died at the age of 76.
According to TheWrap, Einstein?s brother, actor and comedian Albert Brooks, confirmed the news of Einstein?s passing on Twitter.
SFGate reports, an L.A.-born actor, writer and comedian, Einstein first made his name as a writer for ?The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.?
Einstein began performing as his Evel Knievel-esque daredevil character Super Dave Osbourne in 1972 on John Byner?s variety show.
He would go on to appear as Super Dave on ?Late Night with David Letterman? and star in his own Showtime series ?Super Dave? in 1987.
Einstein also played Marty Funkhouser in HBO?s ?Curb Your Enthusiasm? for all ten seasons of the show.
