According to a report by huffpost, Netflix started 2019 by announcing a July fourth release date for the highly anticipated third season of Stranger Things. While few specifics are known about the upcoming season, Netflix's Cindy Holland told Deadline in 2018, that the shows creators ?understand the stakes are high. They want to deliver something bigger and better than what they did last year. And so they really want to take the time to get it right.? Matt and Ross Duffer, the shows creators, have reportedly hinted that the Emmy-winning show probably won't conclude until the fourth or fifth season.
