Former U.S. President, Barack Obama released his annual best-of-2018 list on Friday. The list highlights his favorite books, music and movies of the year, that he calls the ?most thought-provoking, inspiring, or just plain loved.?
Obama explains, ?It also gives me a chance to highlight talented authors, artists, and storytellers ? some who are household names and others who you may not have heard of before.?
Some of the artists that he listed shared messages of thanks on social media.
Musician Janelle Monáe, thanked Obama in an Instagram post saying, "Since we?re talking ?best of the year? lists,' once again, you still hold da #1 spot for best president.?
Cardi B also responded to the recognition of her song ?I Like It,? writing ?Yaaayyyyy I made the list...That means I?m really close to meeting the Obamas muahahaha.?
Brandi Carlile added, "YES! I could not be more proud to have made this list! (Barack and Michelle Obama are the) epitome of grace.?
