According to a report by Gizmodo, a poll conducted earlier this year showed that, given the choice between many famous movie franchises, fans would most like to see a new chapter in Robert Zemeckis' time-travelling Back to the Future series. However, Zemeckis, who wrote and directed all three installments of the series, has long insisted that a fourth installment will never be made. When recently asked by Yahoo! if his stance against continuing the series remains unchanged, Zemeckis responded, "Oh god yes." In an interview with The Telegraph, Zemeckis once said, "That can't happen until both [franchise creator] Bob [Gale] and I are dead. And then I'm sure they'll do it, unless there's a way our estates can stop it."
