According to a report by Business insider, Netflix has highlighted stand-up comedy for at least a few years, and will continue that effort in the new year, debuting 47 new stand-up specials on New Year's Day. Business Insider points out that a majority of comedians on Forbes' list of the highest-paid comedians also have starred in Netflix specials, including Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld and Dave Chappelle. According to Page Six, Chappelle was paid $60 million for several Netflix stand-up collections, producing three specials at $20 million each.
