"Aquaman", the newest movie in the DC/Warners comic book franchise, is already a massive hit.
According to ComicBook.com the film made $9 million in Thursday night previews.
Factoring in its one-night Amazon showings last Saturday, the film is already sitting at a $13.7 million gross domestically.
Those numbers are on par with the Thursday previews of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and "Doctor Strange."
The opening is just slightly behind "Venom" and "Wonder Woman."
"Aquaman" will get a boost from the five-day holiday weekend.
Analysts predict the movie will beat "Mary Poppins Returns" and "Bumblebee" at the holiday box office.
