VIDEO : Benicio del Toro To Lend Voice To Dora the Explorer Live-Action Film

Benicio, no swiping! Benicio del Toro has closed a deal to provide the voice of Swiper the Fox in the ?Dora the Explorer? live-action movie, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
The film, based on the Nickelodeon TV series from Paramount Players, wrapped production in Australia two weeks ago, but del Toro?s role is a CG character, which explains the late casting.
Del Toro joins a cast that includes Isabela Moner (?Instant Family?) as a slightly older teenage Dora, alongside Michael Peña and Eva Longoria as her parents and Eugenio Derbez and Temuera Morrison.
The live-action theatrical feature will follow teenage Dora on an adventure while she is accompanied by her best friend, the monkey Boots, and her cousin Diego. On the show, Swiper is a villainous, thieving fox who Dora frequently foils when she encourages kids to shout, ?Swiper, no swiping!?
James Bobin is directing the film, and Nicholas Stoller wrote the screenplay. ?Dora the Explorer? is currently dated for release on Aug. 2, 2019.
Del Toro was last seen in ?Sicario: Day of the Soldado? and appeared briefly in ?Avengers: Infinity War,? as well as the Golden Globe-nominated Showtime TV series ?Escape at Dannemora.? He is repped by CAA, LBI Entertainment and Hansen Jacobson.
