?Morning Joe? co-host Mika Brzezinski apologized on Wednesday after dubbing secretary of state Mike Pompeo an aspiring ?butt-boy? for Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.
Brzezinski later tweeting, ?SUPER BAD choice of words .. I should have said ?water boy? ? like for football teams or something like that."
MSNBC declined to offer additional comment.
The ?buttboy? moment happened during the show?s final 30 minutes Wednesday, while the gang on set dissected an interview Pompeo gave to ?Fox & Friends? that same morning. During his appearance, Pompeo defended Bin Salman and continued to insist ? despite an avalanche of evidence to the contrary ? that it was still not clear whether the Crown Prince was involved in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
