According to a report by ScreenRant , while US fans gear up for the theatrical release of Aquaman, the DCEU adventure has already scored a 100 million-dollar opening weekend in the Chinese box office. Initial Aquaman box office projections reportedly project the movie to see a $40 million to $60 million dollar opening, and while the latest projections put it at $65 million, however, that would still be the lowest DCEU opening to date. Comicbook.com reports that while the film's early international success is certainly a good sign for the DCEU, Aquaman faces some stiff competition over the holiday season, including Paramount's Bumblebee, Universal's Welcome to Marwen, and Disney's Mary Poppins Returns.
