VIDEO : WWE's Nia Jax Hopes Her Body Positivity Will Inspire Others

WWE Superstar Nia Jax tells Refinery29 that her self-love journey began once she started wrestling.
Nia, born Savelina Fanene, hails from a long line of Samoan wrestlers that include her famous cousin, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Although she grew up watching women portrayed way different in the world of wrestling, which included mud wrestling in bikinis, she wants change the perception about ladies in wrestling.
She explains, "I just never really saw somebody like me in the business, and I didn't think that somebody like me would fit in to that business."
Nia hopes that her TV presence makes different shapes and sizes normal in society and that her confidence and body positivity will inspire other women.
She adds, "?Maybe a young girl seeing me and not feeling comfortable in her group can feel like, Oh my gosh, look, she went out there and she?s different and I look like her and she?s kicking ass and she?s taking names. Maybe one day I can do that and I should just embrace who I am."
