On Wednesday, IFC Films screened Lars von Triers new film 'The House That Jack Built.'
IFC Films could face sanctions from the MPAA due to Wednesday?s nationwide screenings.
Why?
Because IFC screened an unrated version of the film.
The screening was "a violation of the rating system?s rules.?
If IFC Films wanted to screen the film it should have obtained a waiver.
The indie studio could face disciplinary action including the revocation of the film?s R rating and even a temporary suspension from the ratings system.
The film is seen as objectionable because it depicts graphic murder and mutilation of men, women, and children.
