Following the passing of The Princess Bride author William Goldman, director Rob Reiner issued a statement remembering his friend and collaborator.
According to ComicBook.com, Reiner said that Goldman retained his personality and caustic sense of humor right up until the end.
Deadline reports that Goldman?s health was failing for some time, and finally succumbed last night in his Manhattan home, surrounded by family.
The Oscar-winning screenwriter had a prolific body of acclaimed screenplay work.

The Princess Bride movie remains a cult-classic to this day, and is probably the work that gave Goldman the most widespread recognition of his talent.
