VIDEO : Ralph Lauren Celebrates 50 Years In Fashion, To Be Made Honorary Knight

According to a report by Refinery 29, on Wednesday, fashion designer Ralph Lauren, who celebrated 50 years in business in September, was made an Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. Antony Phillipson, Queen Elizabeth's Trade Commissioner for North America and British Consul General to New York, reportedly called Lauren a "vanguard for the global fashion industry and American style for nearly half a century." Lauren is reportedly the first American fashion designer to receive such an award.
