VIDEO : Carrie Underwood Said The Stitches From Her 'Freak Accident' Made It Impossible To Sing

In November 2017, Carrie Underwood tripped on the steps of her home and broke her wrist and got 40 stitches in her face. Business Insider reported that after her fall, Underwood was worried her voice would be different. At first, she says it was "physically impossible" to even sing with stitches on the inside and the outside of her mouth. Finally she was able to return to the studio to record her most recent album, "Cry Pretty." She described entering the studio for the first time after her accident as "a mind game." She said, "I felt like the differences were more in my head than they were in anybody else's that would listen to the things I was doing."
