Several actors have gone to extreme for roles they've played and even learn instruments. Business Insider recently compiled a list of actors that have done that. For instance, Ryan Gosling learned how to play jazz piano for 'La La Land.' Adrien Brody, who won an Oscar for his performance in the film 'The Pianist,' learned classical piano. When Robert Downey Jr. play Charlie Chaplin, he had to learn violin. Finally, Christian Bale had to learn piano for 'The Big Short.'
