MoviePass announced over the summer that it would limit the number of movies per month in its subscriptions to three.
Sinemia, another movie-ticket subscription service, emerged as an alternative.
However, some subscribers are similarly frustrated with their experience.
The service is "cardless," but users are charged convenience fees each time they purchase a movie.
The convenience fees are on top of the monthly subscription fee.
