The Wednesday before Thanksgiving in 2014 in the North East 10% of flights were cancelled due to heavy rain and snow. In 2017, the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta lost power 8 days before Christmas. Planes were stuck in the tarmac for seven hours.
