Illumination, the studio behind the **Despicable Me** movies, is reportedly developing the film.
Illumination?s founder, Chris Meledandri, said the previous Mario movies were "not done well."
The studio founder is working with Super Mario Bros. designer Shigeru Miyamoto to create the movie.
