According to TheWrap, Mike Flanagan said that when the idea for ?The Bent-Neck Lady? occurred to him, he began to cry.
Business Insider reports, Flanagan refers to the episode as the ?heart of the show,? hence its placement in the middle of the season.
In a lot of ways, that episode was why I wanted to make this show. It completely changes everything that came before it.
