VIDEO : 'Star Trek: Discovery' Cast Defends Character's Brutal Death

ComicBook.com reports when 'Star Trek: Discovery' introduced the franchise?s first gay couple, fans seemed pleased.

But when one of the characters is brutally murdered, the show was accused of falling into the ?bury your gays? trope, where gay couples can't live happily ever after.

But the cast says this isn?t the end for Stamets and Culber at all.

I can promise you that he really did have to go through that in order for us to tell the story that we?re about to tell you. We don?t dismiss it... But it?s a really exciting way of learning about this character.
