The reboot/sequel to John Carpenter?s 1978 original brought back Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode.
The movie's original director, John Carpenter, served as executive producer.
This new films was directed by David Gordon Green and co-written by Danny McBride.
It brought in an estimated $77.5 million at the box office, making it the second biggest October opening ever.
