According to a report by Comicbook.com, Halloween is on track to break the October opening weekend record set by Venom earlier this month. Halloween is set to rake in 80 million dollars its opening weekend, after Venom pulled in 80,255 dollars just weeks ago, setting the new record at 80,255 dollars. Comicbook.com reports that the new Halloween is a direct sequel to John Carpenter's original slasher film that retcons the events of the last nine sequels. Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her role as Lauria Strode, now a grandmother, and David Gordon Green directs from a script written by Jeff Fradley and Danny McBride.
