VIDEO : 'The Conners' To Premiere October 16 On ABC

World-class actors John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf are leading the charge in "The Conners", the ABC sitcom that rose from the ashes of Roseanne Barr's public demise. ABC may find it difficult to completely separate the new series from the controversy that triggered Roseanne to be forced from the network, but the writers have managed a reasonably deft feat in juggling comedy with drama and creating new storylines. CNN reports that the premiere of the much-anticipated series will air Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
